7 Healthy Juices that can be made from a trip to the Sabziwala

For that we have a solution – refreshing juices made from your favorite fruits or veggies that are not only nutritious but will also beat the heat in the Pakistani summer. All you need is a trip to the sabziwala next door to get your required ingredients.


1. The Green Veggie Juice

This green juice formula joins mint, spinach, pears and celery to make a juice energized with vitamin K.


Ingredients: (2 Servings)

  • 1/2 cup fresh mint
  • 3 cups spinach
  • 1/2 lemon, peeled
  • 2 medium pears, cut into eighths
  • 6 large stalks celery, trimmed (available from Empress market, big supermarkets and online stores)
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Recipe:

  • Working in this order, process parsley, spinach, lemon, pears and celery through a juicer.
  • Fill 2 glasses with ice, if desired, and pour the juice into the glasses. Serve immediately.

We have energized the basic orange juice by adding a tomato, apple and carrots to pack in resistant boosting vitamins A and C.


Ingredients: (2 Servings)

  • 1 medium tomato, cut into wedges
  • 1 medium orange, peeled and quartered
  • 1 medium apple, cut into eighths
  • 4 large carrots, peeled
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Recipe:

  • Working in this order, process tomato, orange, apple and carrots through a juicer.

  • 1 medium orange, peeled and quartered
  • 3 spinach leaves

  • 1 medium carrot, peeled
  • 1 large beet, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 1 1-inch piece peeled fresh ginger
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Recipe:

  • Working in this order - process orange, kale, apple, carrot, beet and ginger through a juicer.
