Desi Appetite May Favorites!
It’s been a busy month at Desi Appetite!
Mango season is finally here and we are literally having them with every meal! Whether it’s mango lassi, mango shakes, a mango trifle or just on their own.
Plus we are working hard for Ramazan which is just around the corner. We have realized that preparing in advance makes it easier for us to cook a nutritious iftaari / sehri and still have enough time for ibidaat. Do keep checking our website in Ramazan – we are coming up with new recipes on a regular basis and we would love to have your feedback!
Until then, here’s a quick list of our May favorites – which ones have you made?
Another make-ahead snack that can be fried in minutes. Crispy bread slices filled with a cheesilicious chicken filling. Serve it with ketchup. It’s a perfect snack for a study break, when your friends come over to visit or for your iftaar table.

Mashed potatoes and lots of cream cheese inside! How can we not love these golden fried snacks. Definitely something you need to have on your iftaar table this Ramazan.

As much as we love fried food, we wish we had the option to have our snacks in a healthier manner. Here’s a way to bake your favorite chicken nuggets – good for you & your children.

Even though it’s not Ramazan yet, our readers are enjoying the pakoras. Our favorite is the piyaaz and aloo one – which ones are yours?

We make Lassi all year round, but the moment summer rolls around it’s all about the mango lassi! Cubed mango, thanda thanda dahi and thori si elaichi (cardamom). Already craving a glass right now.

No baking required for this dessert! Just lots of chocolate, biscuits and some patience for it to chill! The waiting being the most difficult task.

As much as we love eating mangoes, having them in desserts is even better! This particular dessert makes use of mango pulp with cream & mango jelly. Yummilicious!

We are now going to make ourselves some mazedaar chana chaat, sit back and relax for another day in the kitchen tomorrow!
Do prepare for the month of Ramazan ahead. Eat a healthy Sehri & Iftaari. Drink lots of water to keep yourself dehydrated. Keep cooking but make sure you have enough time to relax and spend in ibidaat for the month ahead.
