This baked Arabian pasta has a layer of chicken mince, spaghetti, white sauce topped with vegetables & cheese.

Baked Arabian Pasta

INGREDIENTS

  • White Sauce:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon chicken powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon mustard paste
  • 2 egg yolks
  • For Chicken & Pasta Layer:
  • 4 Tablespoons oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • ½ kg chicken, minced or cubed
  • 1 Tablespoon Soya Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes
  • 3 cups boiled pasta
  • 2 Tablespoon Coriander Leaves
  • Vegetables & Cheese Topping
  • For Topping:
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 Tomatoes, sliced (cut in julienne)
  • 1 Capsicum, sliced (cut in julienne)
  • 1 Onion, sliced
  • 1 cup French fries
  • Cheese

DIRECTIONS

  • 1. White Sauce:
  • 2. Heat butter in a saucepan on medium heat. Add flour and cook for about a minute.
  • 3. Add milk, chicken powder, salt, black pepper, mustard paste and cook till thick.
  • 4. Take off the heat and add 2 egg yolks. Mix well and set aside.
  • 5. For Chicken & Pasta Layer:
  • 6. Heat oil in a pot.
  • 7. Saute onion and garlic.
  • 8. Add chicken mince or boneless chicken and saute for 5 minutes.
  • 9. Add vinegar, soya sauce and ketchup. Then add spices (salt, black pepper and red chili flakes).
  • 10. Cook till tender and add coriander leaves. Set aside.
  • 11. Start assembling in a glass dish.
  • 12. Mix the boiled pasta in white sauce and then add chicken mince. Set aside.
  • 13. Vegetable Topping:
  • 14. Heat 2 tablespoons oil.
  • 15. Add capsicums, tomatoes & onion. Saute for a few minutes and set aside.
  • 16. Start assembling:
  • 17. Spread the chicken & pasta layer in a glass dish on the bottom. Top with vegetables, French fries and cheese. Sprinkle oregano. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes at 180 degrees.
