A twist to the regular aloo bhurta - enjoy with chapati or tandoori naan.
- PREP TIME: 5 minutes
- COOK TIME: 60 minutes
- SERVINGS: 6 persons
INGREDIENTS
- 1 kg potatoes
- ½ cup oil
- 2 large onions, sliced
- ½ cup yogurt
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon turmeric (haldi)
- 2 tablespoon red chilli powder
- Chopped green chillies, for garnish
- Chopped coriander, for garnish
- Garam masala powder, for garnish
DIRECTIONS
- 1. Boil, peel and mash potatoes and keep them aside.
- 2. Heat oil and fry onions till golden brown.
- 3. Take out the onions and grind them with yogurt to a fine paste.
- 4. Put the paste in oil on high flame along with the mashed potatoes and all the spices
- 5. Mix well and bhoonofy for 2 minutes
- 6. Add 1 cup of water and simmer for 5 minutes
- 7. Garnish and enjoy with either homemade chapati or tandoori naan.
- 8. Garnish with green chilies, fresh coriander and garam masala powder.
