Keep a jar of this caramel sauce handy to serve over ice-cream or brownies.
- PREP TIME: 5 minutes
- COOK TIME: 15 minutes
- SERVINGS: 6 persons
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1.5 cups (300 ml) cream
- 1. Place butter and sugar in a pan and cook over low heat till thick.
- 2. Add the cream in small increments. Be careful though, as the cream will splutter and boil up.
- 3. Put the saucepan back on heat and let simmer till sauce is smooth.
- 4. Use the caramel sauce with ice-cream; as a sauce on the side for cake; or in a layered dessert.
