This spicy qeema is made using lots of green chilies & coriander leaves with peas for texture & crunch.

Hara Masala Qeema

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 2-3 medium onions, chopped
  • ½ kg beef / chicken mince (qeema)
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, chopped
  • 6 green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ bunch coriander leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ kg peas
  • 1 cup yogurt

DIRECTIONS

  • 1. Heat 4 tablespoon oil in pan. Add chopped onion and fry till translucent.
  • 2. Add ½ kg qeema and stir on high heat till color changes.
  • 3. Turn heat to medium and add tomato puree, chopped garlic, chopped green chilies, cumin seeds, coriander leaves, salt, turmeric powder & red chili powder. Saute (bhoonafy ) for 3-4 minutes to make sure the spices get cooked properly.
  • 4. Add ½ kg peas and yoghurt. Fry well till oil comes on top. Chicken qeema will cook quickly versus beef qeema.
  • 5. Let simmer for 20 minutes till peas are tender. Take off heat and serve hot with green chilies & coriander leaves on top.
